NEW YORK, NY — May 2, 2024 — Katz Media Group, the nation’s largest media sales organization, announced today that Leo MacCourtney, a veteran leader and esteemed figure in the media industry, has announced his retirement as President of Katz Television, effective July 1st, 2024. MacCourtney’s departure marks the conclusion of a remarkable career spanning over five decades in the industry.
Since joining Katz Television, MacCourtney has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth and success. Over those years, he has held various senior leadership positions in both sales and corporate management. He was named President of Katz Television Group in 2012. Throughout his tenure, MacCourtney has been widely respected for his industry knowledge, integrity, and commitment to excellence. As such, he was inducted into the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame in 2022. This esteemed honor recognized his outstanding contributions to the broadcast industry throughout his career. MacCourtney is the Chairman Ex-Officio of the International Radio & Television Society Foundation and the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB), where he has been a board member since 2005 and has served as its treasurer. He currently serves on the board of the Washington Media Scholars Foundation, is the Vice Chairman and Treasurer for the Broadcasters Foundation of America, and is a board member of the Library of American Broadcasters Foundation (LABF).

Craig Broitman, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer since 2012, will assume the position of President of Katz Television Group on July 1st. During his tenure, Broitman has led with unparalleled dedication and understanding of the evolving media landscape. His journey within the organization has been marked by numerous achievements, highlighting his strategic vision and commitment to excellence. Broitman is currently on the TVB’s Executive Board and the chair of its National Sales Advisory Committee.
