All Money Raised Supports Broadcast Colleagues in Need
New York, NY – March 12, 2025 – The Broadcasters Foundation of America, dedicated to helping members of the broadcasting community facing hardship, proudly announces that Katz Media Group, the nation’s largest media sales organization, has raised more than $45,000 during its 14th annual companywide membership drive. This year’s generous contribution brings the total amount raised by Katz to nearly $550,000 since the drive’s inception.
Over the two-week campaign, the Katz team once again demonstrated its deep commitment to supporting the Foundation’s mission of helping members of the broadcasting community who find themselves in acute financial need due to an illness, accident, or emergency. Every dollar raised directly supports the Stu Olds Memorial Fund, honoring Katz’s former CEO and helping broadcasters and their families navigate life’s most difficult moments.
“For more than 70 years, the Broadcasters Foundation has provided critical support — from medical assistance to emergency financial relief — for members of our broadcast community facing difficult times,” said Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation of America. “The continued generosity and leadership of Katz Media Group play an essential role in allowing us to carry out that mission, and we are deeply grateful for the team’s dedication year after year.”
This year alone, the Foundation will provide monthly and emergency grants to broadcasters across the country, including those impacted by natural disasters. Contributions from Katz’s membership drive help ensure the Foundation can continue delivering that vital support.
“As a long-time board member, I have seen firsthand the real impact the Broadcasters Foundation has on the lives of people in our industry,” said Mark Gray, Chief Executive Officer of Katz Media Group. “Supporting this organization is deeply important to our team, and I am incredibly proud of the way our employees continue to come together each year to help our colleagues who need it most.”
Last year, Katz Media Group received the 2025 Philip J. Lombardo Spirit Award, recognizing the company’s longstanding commitment to the Broadcasters Foundation.
